Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides
Commonly referred to as the “Salmon Sperm Facial”, this treatment features highly purified DNA fragments that activate the skin’s natural healing processes at a cellular level. With powerful anti-inflammatory properties, it repairs and regenerates the skin without changing facial shape or adding volume.
By supporting collagen and elastin production, polynucleotides improve skin elasticity, firmness, and overall texture, leaving the skin smoother, more resilient, and radiant.
Suitable for all skin types, polynucleotides are a versatile treatment that can be used to address a variety of common skin concerns.

Polynucleotides - FAQs
What is the difference between polynucleotides and other skin boosters?
Both types of treatments improve skin quality but work via different mechanisms and materials.
- Polynucleotides are DNA-based and focus on cellular repair and anti-inflammation.
- Profhilo and other hyaluronic acid-based skin boosters focus on hydration and skin remodelling.
A unique advantage of polynucleotides is their suitability for treating delicate areas like the under-eye region, where Profhilo cannot be used.
Are polynucleotides safe?
Polynucleotides have a very high safety profile. To date, there have been no adverse reactions to the product. However, like any medical procedure, treatment should only be administered by a qualified medical professional in a sterile environment.
Is the treatment painful?
We normally apply an anaesthetic numbing cream prior to the treatment to reduce any discomfort. Overall, polynucleotides treatment is generally well tolerated.
Are polynucleotides treatments suitable for acne?
Yes, once acne is stabilised and well controlled. Polynucleotides are particularly beneficial for healing, reducing redness, improving scarring, and supporting overall skin recovery. They are best used as part of a comprehensive acne treatment plan rather than as a standalone solution.
How many polynucleotide treatment sessions will I need?
- Initial course: 3 treatments, spaced 2-4 weeks apart.
- Maintenance: 1 treatment, every 3 months.
Downtime and aftercare
Overall, Polynucleotides are considered a low-downtime treatment and patients are able to return to work and resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
You may experience:
- Small bumps at injection sites up to 24hrs
- Mild swelling in the under-eye region, for up to 24hrs

Aftercare:
- Avoid makeup for 12–24 hours
